Urban Oracle 4 Singapore

Echoing the ancient role of art in ritual, Urban Oracle transforms the Marina Bay promenade into a space for reflection and collective discovery. Trained on Singapore’s rich tapestry of legends and stories, the AI oracle generates cryptic statements that infuse the city’s cultural heritage with new, sustainable energy.

Suspended along the pontoon in front of the Red Dot Design Museum, the installation features 24 luminous LED letters. Reflected in the waters of the bay, these glowing texts form a dynamic display that merges language, technology, and landscape. For its i Light Singapore edition, Urban Oracle shifts from personal oracle consultation to a collective experience. The installation reinterprets local narratives and aligns with the festival’s “To Gather” theme by celebrating shared values and emotions.

Visitors can interact by pressing one of three large red buttons placed along the promenade. Each activation reveals an AI-generated prophecy : words about nature, the city, and sustainable living, inviting moments of reflection and a renewed sense of connection with the environment.

Urban Oracle emphasizes sustainability with its design, utilizing low-energy LED strips and durable iron components. The installation is built to be eco-friendly – all materials are being reused, and zero waste will be generated during setup. The low-consumption LED strips ensure minimal environmental impact while maintaining the installation’s vibrant display, aligning with a commitment to both innovation and sustainability.
